Greenbrier Ranger District

The Greenbrier Ranger District is located in Bartow, WV. Some of the district’s highlights include Laurel Fork Wilderness, which offers a solitude-filled wilderness adventure for those looking to be a self-reliant traveler. Gaudineer Scenic Area offers a gorgeous scenic overlook with an interpretive trail and a secluded picnic area.

The Mower Basin Trails offer over 7 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails that meander through open meadows, high-elevation red spruce, and northern hardwood forests in a partnership-led restoration effort in Randolf county.

Area campgrounds or the secluded Middle Mountain Cabin offer great places to stay while you enjoy the area.

Operational Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, unless otherwise posted. If you need to purchase a pass or permit call ahead to make an appointment.

Directions:

The Ranger Station is on the north side of Bartow,WV, head North on 250. If heading north on 250,  the ranger station will be on your left just before you leave Bartow. .
