Alpine Garden Trailhead

This area is renowned for the rare and beautiful alpine plants that can be observed blooming in spring and early summer, as well as spectacular views. The trail is entirely above tree-line and exposure to wind and weather can be extreme.

Trailhead is accessed seasonally from the Mt. Washington Auto Rd just above the 6 mile mark across from the Wamsutta Trailhead. The road is only open to vehicle traffic when it is snow-free.
