Granite Creek Campground

This is a small loop campground with 18 sites on the banks of Granite Creek. Bring your RV or tent. It offers a vault toilet, hand driven water pump, dumpster, picnic tables, fire rings, bear lockers. It is located about 66 miles south of Anchorage on the Seward highway, about 1 mile past the Johnson Pass North INHT Trailhead.

Current Conditions
During the break-up season, the road in this campground is too soft to accommodate vehicles. The campground will open once the ground hardens. Check back for updates.

Reservations are made though Recreation.gov (1-877-444-6777) and recommended for summer camping. Fees are charged during the summer season. Reservations may be made up to 180 days prior to your desired arrival date in the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day in September).

Generally campgrounds are open from mid-May to September 30th. The stay limit is 14 days.

$19/night. A non-refundable service fee will be added to each reservation by Recreation.gov

Fishing - River/Stream Info

Fishing for small Dolly Varden is available in Granite Creek near the campground. Review Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) hunting and fishing regulations.

Granite Creek Campground is located near Sixmile creek, which provides Class V whitewater opportunities for rafts and kayaks.
