Bear Paw Lake Picnic Site

This .3 miles goes from long scenic trail 25 miles from Hoonah along Forest road 8508. The outlet creek is crossed by a trail bridge, which provides an opportunity to observe fish and water birds. At the lake you will find two picnic tables, fire rings, and opportunities for fishing and nature viewing. Along the lake shore beaver have built a den, and can often be seen in the lake. A Forest Service supplied boat can be found on the lakeshore, but be sure to bring your own oars.
