Bradford Ranger District


Area Status: Open

The Bradford Ranger District covers the northern half of the Allegheny National Forest. Highlights of this area include the Allegheny Reservoir, Wild and Scenic Allegheny River and Hearts Content.

Hidden gems found on the district are the Old Powerhouse, Timberdoodle Flats Interpretive Trail and Hall Barn Wildlife Viewing Area.

Current Conditions: Customers needing information, permits. and maps are encouraged to call 814-362-4613 or email at sm.fs.anf@usda.gov during regular business hours for prompt, customer service.
Operational Hours:  Office open Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
 Office closed on all federal holidays.

Permit Info: Fuelwood permits are available at this location. Contact the Ranger Station for information about Special Use Permits for large group events (75 people or more).

Restrictions: As a visitor to the National Forest, you are asked to follow certain rules designed to protect the Forest, natural resources and to provide for public safety of visitors. These rules are available to you on-line or at any office of the Allegheny National Forest. Please take time to read and understand them. General Topic orders apply across the Forest.

  • Travel north on SR 219
  • Turn left/west onto SR 59/PA-770
  • Travel west on SR59/PA-770 for 13.1 miles
  • Turn left/south onto Forest Service Drive and travel to the office, approx. 13 feet.
