This small trailhead offers access to the Timberline ATV loop trail system. Facilities include gravel parking and informational signing.

Fees: Daily Pass: $10.00/vehicle per day or Annual Pass: $35.00/vehicle per calendar year
Permit Info: You must provide proof of registration and insurance to purchase a permit.

  • Travel on Main St. to Spring Creek Road/Route 3002
  • Travel on Spring Creek Road/Route 3002 for 9.2 miles.
  • Turn right onto Arroyo-Portland Road.
  • Travel on Arroyo-Portland Road for 1 mile.

Viewing Wildlife

Over 70 species of game and non-game fish live in the Allegheny National Forest. Over 300 species of mammals, including raccoon, gray squirrel, snowshoe hare, red and gray fox, beaver, mink, and muskrat as well as game species suck as white-tailed deer, black bear and wild turkey.

For information on species common to Pennsylvania, and the Allegheny National Forest visit the Pennsylvania Game Commission website for game and nongame species information.

When you see wildlife, please remember:

  • never feed wildlife
  • don't interfere with mating, predation or other natural behaviors.
  • keep a respectful distance
  • preserve habitat by following "leave no trace" principles.
  • leave young wildlife where you find them.

Please camp only in those areas posted for overnight camping. Please make proper use of the restroom facility, and please pack out your garbage. Your cooperation with these guidelines will help the US Forest Service ensure that this trailhead is an attractive place to visit on the Allegheny National Forest.
