General Camping Info: Find helpful guidance and tips for an enjoyable trip to the forest!
Know Fire & Other Restrictions Before You Go!: These conditions can affect your entire trip. For example, Extreme and Critical fire use restrictions mean no campfires and no portable cooking systems/stoves. Bring cold food and no S'mores.
Be Bear Aware!: Bear safety is critical, for the safety of your group and/or you, as well as our bears. Help keep bears wild by following these tips.
Overview: Horse Flats Campground offers 26 campsites with plentiful shade options. It also has accessible hiking opportunities such as the Silver Moccasin National Recreation Trail, some excellent areas for mountain bikers, and, as the name implies, equestrian resources that include four corrals and several more hitching posts.
Elevation: 5,600 feet
Amenities: A total of 26 campsites with picnic tables and campfire rings. Vault toilets. No water available.
Bouldering: Rock climbing is a 1-mile hike to the top of Mt. Hillyer.
Hiking: The Silver Moccasin Trail is just a short walk away at thesouthwest side of the campground.
Horse Corrals: There are 4 horse corrals and several hitching posts located at the west side of the campground.
Fees:
Camping Fees - $12 per night per site, $5 for extra vehicle. Campsites are first come - first served only. There is no way to reserve a campsite in advance.
Day-Use Fees - Same as the camping fee. A Forest Service Adventure Pass or Interagency Pass is required for vehicles parked outside the campground
RVs: Maximum RV length is 20 feet. No hook-ups available.

Directions:Location: From Interstate 210 in La Canada, exit at Angeles Crest Highway. (Hwy. 2) and drive 29 miles to the intersection with the Santa Clara Divide Rd. (3N17) at Three Points (watch for the sign). Turn to the south and drive 3 miles to the campground.
