Administratively Closed: Toilets and Trash Aren't Being Serviced on a Regular Basis. Toilet is currently locked.

6300-foot elevation. 5 hike-in group campsites. Seasonal stream water (treat before using). However, water flow may be low or non-existent due to reduced rainfall/snowfall. Campsites are first come - first served. Campfire Permit is required, and may be obtained online or at any Forest Service office. Interagency Pass or Adventure Pass required for vehicles parked at Burkhart trailhead.

Current Conditions: The toilet is currently closed as the service road is partially washed-out, preventing access for a pump truck. First come - first served basis. Campfire rings/stoves are provided. A CA campfire permit is required to operate backpack stove or equivalent heating device.

General Information


Location: From Interstate 210 in La Canada, exit onto the  Angeles Crest Highway (HWY 2) and drive northeast for approximately 33 miles to Cloudburst Summit. Park in the clearing to the left (north) of the highway and follow either the fire road (1.75 miles) or the Pacific Crest Trail (2.5 miles) down to Cooper Canyon Trail Camp.
