Gould Mesa Trail Camp (Hike-in Campground)

Gould Mesa Trail Camp is a hike-in campground2 miles round-trip with a very steep hill.

NOTE: Due to recent rainfall and flooding, there is debris blocking the FS Service Road to the campground. Maintenance and cleanup of the campground will be sporadic.

Know Fire & Other Restrictions Before You Go!: These conditions can affect your entire trip. For example, Extreme and Critical fire use restrictions mean no campfires and no portable cooking systems/stoves. Bring cold food and no S'mores. 

Be Bear Aware!: Bear safety is critical, for the safety of your group and/or you, as well as our bears. Help keep bears wild by following these tips. 



Overview of Site: 

Elevation: 1,500-feet

General Amenities: 5 hike-in campsites with picnic tables and campfire rings, vault toilets, trash receptacles, no piped water available. Seasonal stream (treat/boil water--if available--before using). However, water flow may be low or non-existent due to reduced rainfall/drought. Please bring enough water for cooking, cleaning, drinking, and extinguishing campfires. 

Equestrian Amenities: 3 hitching rail (52 linear feet) for horses, stream water available

Hiking Information: Access to the Gabrielino National Recreation Trail is adjacent to the trail camp.

Directions:

Location: Accessible by the Gabrielino National Recreation Trail. From Interstate 210 WEST in La Canada, take Windsor Ave. Turn right on Windsor to Ventura St. and park. Take the Gabrielino Trail 2 miles to the campground. OR from Interstate 210 exit at the Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy. 2) and head north about 2 miles. Park on the right before you enter the forest and hike the dirt road 1 mile past the power substation to the campground.
