Frenchman's Flat Day Use Area

Area Status: Open

The access road to the Day Use area is CLOSED to vehicle traffic. Plan to hike in or bike in. 

Amenities: 3 Hike-in campsites- picnic tables, no FS provided fire devices - no campfires. Vault toilets, trash receptacles, no piped water. Seasonal stream water (treat before using). However, water flow may be low or non-existent due to reduced rainfall. Please bring enough water for cooking, cleaning, drinking, and extinguishing campfires. 

Waterplay: Access to Piru Creek for fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing.  

Fees: Camping - Adventure Pass/America the Beautiful Pass Required. Vehicles must park at the gate.

The 2,200-acre Frenchman’s Flat standard amenity recreation fee area is a popular riparian area most well-known for the Wild and Scenic River designation, and its native trout fishery. Recreation activities include wildlife viewing, swimming, hiking, and picnicking.

Reservations: First come-First served. No reserving or holding of campsites allowed. 
Fees: Adventure Pass Required $5/day or $30/year. Interagency Passes also accepted. 
Permit Info: A California Campfire Permit is required.

Restrictions: Fire Restrictions are in effect. All backpack stoves and portable gas stoves must be put completely out before you leave the area.
