Bierstadt Trailhead

Two signs diplay at the head of the trailhead to Mount Bierstadt. The mountain is in the background.

The Bierstadt trailhead located on the Guanella Pass road offers a variety of summer and winter activities. The site offers parking, vault toilet, and interpretive information. From this parking area you can access the Bierstadt trail or the Rosalie trial. The Bierstadt trail starts above treeline and takes you through the largest willow bog in Colorado. A wooden boardwalk has been built so hikers can keep their feet dry from the wet bog and protect the alpine willows from human damage. The trail then begins to climb to the summit of Mount Bierstadt. Wonderful views of surrounding peaks can be seen, as well as the Continental Divide in the distance.
