Butler Gulch

Length: 2.4 miles ONE-WAY

Elevation: 10,514 feet - 11,928 feet

Trail Description: Begin at the Jones Pass Trailhead. The trail climbs through a spruce/fir forest on a narrow closed road. It leads to an open bowl that is great for viewing wildflowers in the summer and backcountry skiing in the winter.

Note: Due to high elevation, the trails in some years are not generally snow-free until late June or mid-July.

General Information

Directions: From I-70, take exit 232 to US 40,proceed northwest approx. 9 miles to small town of Berthoud Falls. Turn left at the sign for Jones Pass/Henderson Mine. Follow paved road 1.6 miles to a gate, turn right on Forest Road 144. The trailhead is a half mile ahead.
