Guanella Pass Trailhead

  

The Guanella Pass trailhead located on the Guanella Pass road offers a variety of summer and winter activities. The site offers parking, vault toilet, and interpretive information. From this parking area you can access the South Park trail or the Rosalie trail.

Permit Info: * A mandatory free self-issuing permit is required for the Mount Evans Wilderness.
* Free permits are available at each trailhead or entry point into the wilderness.
Usage: Heavy
Restrictions: Guanella Pass road is a county road and parking along the road is prohibited. Arrive early to park at the trailhead. Rules for Mount Evans Wilderness area:
* Dogs must be on a hand held leash.
* No motorized or mechanized equipment.
* Camps, campfires and stock, where allowed, at least 100 feet from water and trails.
* Group size limited to 15 people and/or 10 pack/stock animals per party.
* Certified weed-free hay is required for stock.
Closest Towns: Georgetown or Grant, CO
Water: Streams; treat water for drinking.
Restroom: Vault toilets at trailhead

General Information

Directions: Drive west from Denver on Interstate 70. Exit at Georgetown and follow the signs 9 miles from Georgetown to Guanella Pass. Drive west from Denver on US 285 approximately 40 miles to Grant. Turn right (north) on to Park County 62. Drive 13.5 miles to Guanella Pass.
