Snowmobiling

Idleglen is located 4 1/2 miles up County Road 4, off of US Hwy. 34. Snowmobiling is allowed when there is at least 6 " of snow and when such activity will not damage natural resources. Once conditions are met, the gates on the Stillwater Pass and Kawuneeche Roads will be opened to over-the-snow travel. This snowmobile season is generally between later December when snow conditions are met and April before the snow melts., but never before November 15 nor after June 15. A snowmobiling map of the Idleglen/Stillwater Pass area is available at the Sulphur Ranger District Office. Snowmobiling is allowed in other areas of the Sulphur Ranger District.
