Limited parking is available on the east side of private Beaver Reservoir, along County Road 96, for access to the Sourdough Trail.

Directions:

From Ward, head north on Colorado Highway 72 for approximately three miles. Turn west on County Road 96, signed for Tahosa Boy Scout Camp, continuing 2.5 miles to the east side of Beaver Reservoir.

Horse Riding

Although parking is limited at the marked Beaver Reservoir Trailhead, there is ample room for parking and turning around with a horse trailer south of County Road 96 on the east side of Beaver Reservoir. This trailhead provides access to the Sourdough Trail, and Coney Creek Road (the road is a nice ride early in the season, when the gate is still closed.)
