Forsythe Canyon Trailhead provides access to the Forsythe Canyon Trail and parking for the Winiger Ridge area west of Gross Reservoir. For current information on road openings and closures, check the Road Status Table.

General Information

Directions:

From Boulder, head west on Canyon Boulevard, (Colorado Highway 119) for four miles and turn southwest onto Magnolia Road (County Road 132). Continue on Magnolia Road for 6.6 miles and turn southeast onto County Road 68. Follow CR 68 for two miles and turn southeast onto National Forest System Road 359.

Recreation areas with activity Horse Riding: Forsythe Canyon Trailhead offers access to the Winiger Ridge area west of Gross Reservoir. Forsythe Canyon Trail is the only non-motorized trail; it is one mile in length. Miles of roads offer great opportunity for riding when the seasonal gate is closed. Parking is available outside of the seasonal gate for year-round non-motorized access.
