Lookout Mountain Trailhead (#934)

Lookout Mountain Trail can be accessed from the Danner Pass Trail 926, which starts off County Road 44H near the old Buckhorn Ranger Station. From here the trail heads south for several miles before intersecting with Lookout Mountain Trail 934. Heading west from this intersection, trail 934 takes you about three miles west, eventually meeting with the Signal Mountain Trail 928. Note OHVs are not allowed south of the intersection on the Danner Pass Trail or west of the end of the Lookout Mountain Trail 934 at the junction with Forest Service Road (FSR) 154C. The trail may also be accessed from the area known as "5 Points" on Crystal Mountain Road at the junction of FSR 344 and 132. From here the trail heads west back to the junction with the Danner Pass Trail 926.

Usage: Light
Restrictions: Motorized single-track vehicles are not permitted south of Danner Pass or west of the end of the Lookout Mountain Trail at the junction with FSR 154C. Motorcycles, whether licensed or unlicensed, must be registered as an OHV with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Certified weed-free hay is required for stock.

Lookout Mountain Trail may be accessed from Moody Hill Road, Donner Pass Trail or Signal Mountain Trail. Regardless of your starting point, you will not be disappointed with the spectacular panoramic view. See Lookout Mountain Trail directions for multiple access points.
Fire Information Check for any seasonal fire restrictions before your hike. Campfires must be at least 100 feet from water and trails. You may collect dead and down wood; do not break branches from standing trees for firewood. Please attend to campfires at all times. Touch any remaining coals with the bare hand to insure campfire is cold and dead out. Remember, if it is too hot to touch, it is too hot to leave!
