McIntyre Lake Trail (#964)


The Link Trail is in the Rawah Wilderness. The trail climbs steadily for about five miles through a lodgepole pine forest to the Big McIntyre Burn, which offers great views of the surrounding country. The trail levels somewhat and continues south for another 4 miles. The trail intersects the Medicine Bow Trail, the McIntyre Lake Trail, and finally ends at the Rawah Trail near Rawah Lake #1.The McIntyre Lake Trail is a relatively short trail that branches off of the Link Trail at about seven miles. It provides access to McIntyre Lake then continues south and reconnects to the Link Trail near Rawah Lake #1.

Usage: Light
Restrictions: General Wilderness Regulations: Dogs must be on a hand held leash. No motorized or mechanized equipment. Camps, campfires, and stock, where allowed, at least 200 feet from water and trails. Group size limited to 12 people or stock animals. Certified weed-free hay is required for stock. Alpine Closure: Fires are prohibited above 10,800’ (tree line).

Water: Water can be filtered and treated from nearby water sources.

General Information

Directions: Travel 11 miles northwest of Fort Collins on U.S. Highway 287. Turn left onto Colorado Highway 14, and travel 52 miles to County Road 103, Laramie River Road. Turn right and travel north about 16 miles to County Road 80C, Glendevey Road. Turn left and travel about 3 miles to the Link and McIntyre Trailhead parking on the left just past Browns Park Campground.
