Pintail Lake is an excellent observation and study area for anyone interested in waterfowl and waterfowl habitat. Two wildlife viewing blinds offer unique views over the ponds.

General Notes:
  • The ponds were begun in 1977 as a joint venture between the Arizona Game and Fish Department, United States Department of Agriculture - Forest Service, and City of Show Low.
  • Bird watchers will be especially interested in the area.

Accessibility:

3/8 miles total of which 1/4 mile is paved


Directions:

From Show Low take State Highway 77 north approximately 3.3 miles to Pintail Lake turnoff. Turn right and follow the gravel road to the dead end. Park your vehicle and follow the established trails to either the covered blind or open observation deck.
