Pintail Lake is an excellent observation and study area for anyone interested in waterfowl and waterfowl habitat. Two wildlife viewing blinds offer unique views over the ponds.

A wide variety of waterfowl and marsh birds can be viewed on any given day. Wild Canadian geese and other migratory birds often use the lake as a stop over and rest area during migratory seasons.

The source of water is treated effluent from Show Low's sewer system. The wetlands were designed, planned and are being managed as a waterfowl enhancement area.
