Dinner Station Campground and Picnic Area

Area Status: Open

Dinner Station Campground is a hillside campground covering 5 acres along Birch Creek that has 8 camping units, a day-use picnic area, ADA accessible toilets, water, and is close to fishing areas as well as many trailheads. For this site, please limit trailer lengths to 16' or less, do not exceed the 16-day camping limit and keep in mind that there are not garbage services here, so pack it in and pack it out.

General Information


Travel North on I-15 from Dillon for 12 miles.  Take the Apex exit and continue West for approximately 11.5 miles on Birch Creek Road.

General Notes:
  • There is potable water available at this sites during the summer months. 
  • There is no cell phone coverage in the area.
  • There is no garbage service at the campground so please pack out what you pack in.

River and Stream Fishing

There area a number of streams in the area that provide nice fishing opportunities.

Permit: Please check with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks for licensing and permit information.

Day Hiking

There are some beautiful trails in the area including a trail that leads to Deerhead Lake.
