From Sula, travel south on highway 93 (Lewis and Clark Trail) for about 12.7 miles.  Turn east on highway 43 and continue to the Chief Joseph Pass Parking area.

The cabin is located in Picnic Meadows, a clear-cut area within the cross-country ski trail system approximately ½ mile from the parking lot. The easiest route is on the Continental Divide road/trail. On the north end of the Chief Joseph Pass parking area you will see a locked green gate. Using the foot path around the right side of the gate, walk approximately ½ mile. At that point, you will find a trail branching off to the right and a green "Hut" sign pointing to the cabin. All trails are well-signed. Access to the cabin is on foot only.
