General Notes:

Racetrack Cabin is a primitive, one-room cabin equipped with two sets of bunk beds and can sleep up to four people. It has a table and chairs and the basic cooking utensils and dishes. There is cupboard space available within the cabin, as well as a storage box for food. The wood stove can be used for cooking as well as heating. Firewood is provided but cannot be guaranteed. Other items that we provided but cannot guaranteed are a mop, broom and bucket and axe.

There is no electricity, water or sewer at the cabin. Guest need to bring their own water for cooking, cleaning and drinking. Other items we recommend bringing include bedding, sleeping pads, pillows, towels, soap, toilet paper, garbage bags, and any special cooking equipment you require.

There is an outhouse with a vault toilet located just to the side of the cabin.

Please remember guests must pack out all trash and food and clean the cabin before leaving.

Racetrack Cabin provides a wide variety of recreational activities including fishing, hiking and winter sports. It also provides visitors with great wildlife viewing opportunities to see deer, elk, blue grouse, and the occasional mountain goat or bear. Trout fishing is very popular in the nearby creek, as well as in any of the accessible high mountain lakes in the vicinity. Accessing the lakes will require extensive hiking. Hunting is also popular in this area. Visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter months. Various weather conditions can increase avalanche danger in the area and visitors are encouraged to be prepared for anything.
