Rimrock Trailhead (Trail #79)
The Rimrock Trail can be accessed from the Little Spearfish Trailhead located near Timon Campground. The trail includes two loop trails and a spur trail that connects to the Old Baldy Trail, for a total of 7.2 miles of trail. The Rimrock Trail meanders through stands of ponderosa pine, quaking aspen, and paper birch.

Mountain Biking
To access the Rimrock Trail from Spearfish, travel south on Highway 14A to Savoy, then west on FSR 222 for approximately 4.7 miles to the trailhead. The Rimrock Trail is maintained for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling and used in winter, for cross-country skiing. No motorized use is allowed.
Day Hiking
To access the Rimrock Trail from Spearfish, travel south on Highway 14A to Savoy, then west on FSR 222 for approximately 4.7 miles to the trailhead. The Rimrock Trail is maintained for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling and, in winter, for cross-country skiing. No motorized use is allowed. Difficulty Rating: Moderate.
