    Located in the southern Black Hills, within the Norbeck Wildlife Preserve, and close to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Wrinkled Rock offers many different climbing opportunities across beautiful natural granite rock formations.

The Wrinkled Rock climbing area can be accessed from the trailhead where parking is available, along with climbing information, and a toilet facility.

Wrinkled Rock has several free tent pad sites for first come, fire served but a 14 day stay limit is enforced. 

Wrinkled Rock is located off State Highway 244, adjacent to the west boundary of Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

Climbing the nearby Mount Rushmore sculpture is prohibited. There are many climbing opportunities in the park on other rock formations. A climbing brochure is available in the Information Center and at the Lincoln Borglum Museum.

Rock Climbing
