Middle Fork Payette River Trail
Middle Fork Payette River Trail - This trail leaves the northern end of Forest Service (FS) Road 698 and travels north along the Middle Fork of the Payette River.
As it leaves the road it passes by the historical Boiling Springs Guard Station recreation rental cabin, then a series of natural hot springs before its junction with the Bull Creek Trail.
This trail is non-motorized from the end of the FS Road 698 to the junction with the Bull Creek Trail, where it becomes single track motorized for 0.5 miles before returning to non-motorized status until the end of the trail at FS Road 409.
The lower portion of the trail crosses the river 17 times and is very dangerous during periods of high stream flow, so please use extreme caution.
Southeast from the trailhead across the river is a dispersed camping area that will accommodate horses.

Directions:From Boise, Idaho travel 38 miles north along State Highway 55 to Banks, Idaho.
From Boise, Idaho travel 38 miles north along State Highway 55 to Banks, Idaho. At the intersection with State Highway 17 (Banks/Lowman Road) turn east and proceed to the Crouch, Idaho turnoff.
Continue north, passing through Crouch on a paved road, which becomes Forest Service (FS) Road 698.
To access this trail, take Forest Service (FS) Road 698 approximately 22.3 mile to the end of the road.
The trailhead is located on the left.
General Notes:
The Middle Fork Payette River / Wet Foot Trailhead includes a hitching rack and information kiosk at the trailhead sign.
The trailhead serves Middle Fork Payette River (#033) and Wet Foot (#441) / Skunk Creek-Wet Foot (#041) trails.
Southeast from the trailhead across the river is a dispersed camping area that will accommodate horses.
The trailhead is located near the gate to Boiling Springs Rental Cabin and Boiling Springs Campground is nearby.
The trailhead has a small parking area and is within walking distance to the hot springs.
