One Spoon Trail - This trail leaves the Middle Fork Payette River and heads west until it reaches the Bear Wallow Trail.

This is an ideal trail for a short day hike with unusual granite formations and wonderful views of the east side of the Middle Fork.

General Information

Directions:

From Boise, Idaho, take State Highway 55 north 38 miles to Banks, Idaho.  

At Banks, turn east onto the Banks-Lowman Highway 17 (also called Banks-Lowman Road) and proceed to Crouch, Idaho.

From Crouch, go north along Forest Service (FS) Road 698 approximately 12 miles toward Hardscrabble Campground.

One Spoon Trail begins just south of the campground.  The trail heads west until it intersects with the Bear Wallow Trail.
