Trail Highlights:
- From the 4 way junction, the Paamus Naokwaide Trail heads down the hill through aspen forest on a recently constructed reroute. The trail crosses through a large open meadow with nice views of Munger Mountain and then heads into thick aspen forest that is absolutely stunning in the fall months.
- The trail levels out briefly in an open meadow before descending on another new reroute along an open ridge with beautiful views above Rock Cr Meadows. This is a fast downhill section with a tight corner at the bottom so be careful to watch for other users.
- The trail swoops through a small open bowl and then levels out and crosses a sagebrush hillside where you’ll see the junction for the Rock Cr Trail. From here the trail begins descending again on yet another rerouted section across an open hillside with great views of the Tetons.
- The trail winds its way down this aspen ridge with a series of large turns until coming out at a newly constructed bridge.
- Past the bridge, the trail continues on a side slope through aspen forest, past a small pond on the left, and finally reaches a junction for Tuscy Ridge Trail and the start of the Big Munger Loop Trail.
Options:
- There are a variety of loop options at Munger. From Squaw, you can connect to the Rock Cr Trail which will take you down to the Fall Cr Road. You can also connect to Tuscy Ridge Trail, Poison Cr Trail, or Wally World Trail, all of which will take you back up to the 4 way junction. Check out the Munger map for ideas.
