Jacobs Creek Shooting Range

Area Status: Open

Jacobs Creek Range has targets set up at 25, 50, 100 yards.  Please bring your own paper targets, and paper targets only.  If an injury or emergency arises, please call 911.    

At a Glance

Operational Hours: Sunrise to sunset.  All use must be completed by sunset.  Open year round.  Maintenance and cleaning is generally performed in the mornings, and for everyone's safety the area will be shut down during those cleaning and maintenance tasks.  
Fees: Fee is $2 per vehicle per day or annual Cherokee National Forest Pass for $30.  Contact the Watauga Ranger District for more information at 423-735-1500.  The day-use permit can also be purchased online.  See information below in Passes.

  • No alcohol allowed at the range. 
  • It is your responsibility to read, know, understand, and follow all specific rules and regulations which are also posted at the day-use area. 
  • Please pick up spent brass and casings.

General Information


From Bristol, take US 421 south for 12 miles, turn left on paved Denton Valley Road. Jacobs Creek Range is 1.5 mile on Denton Valley Road on right.
