Quartz Creek campground is closed - November 15, 2021

During the off-season there is no water, no trash service, and no fees.  Please pack out all garbage. Outhouse/toilet facilities may be unavailable.

Access to the Boat Launch and Kenai Lake public access are open  year-round.

Camping is on a first come first serve basis. No reservations are required for fall, winter, early spring camping.

Reservations are made though Recreation.gov (1-877-444-6777) and recommended for summer camping. Fees are charged during the summer season. Reservations may be made up to180 days prior to your desired arrival date in the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day in September).

This campground has 45 sites, some double sites, paved roads and spurs. The campground will recieve more upgrades in the future, including an RV dumpstation, picnic sites, and an interpretive pavilion.  $18 (single)/$28 (double). A non-refundable service fee will be added to each reservation by Recreation.gov

Water, flush toilets, tables, and a boat launching area.

Current Conditions: Notice: Spruce beetle mitigation efforts will take place in the campground in fall 2021. The campground will be closed to any public use during mitigation work. Closures will be posted.

Directions:

Located in Cooper Landing on Kenai Lake. Travel south on the Seward Highway and turn right onto the Sterling Highway. The campground is located at Milepost 45 on the Sterling Highway.


General Notes:

Relatively flat with small spruce tress, and lake.
