Cabin Rentals

A visit to this cabin offers possibilities for wildlife

viewing, photography, exploring, hunting, and fishing. The topography is very rugged limiting hiking in the area.  A small boat will greatly increase access and exploring potentials in this bay  and along the coast of Port Wells.  (Boats are not provided by the Forest Service).  Mountain goats can sometimes be seen on the surrounding cliffs.

Cabin is on a bluff 12 feet above ocean, access by steps. Climate is usually wet, windy, and cool. Inclement weather may cause an unexpected extension of the trip. Bring extra supplies to last 2-5 days. Bringing a personal cooking stove is recommended. Drinking water is sometimes difficult to obtain near cabin. Boil surface water for 5 minutes before drinking. Remember to pack out your trash. Enjoy, but do not disturb the archaeological and historic sites in the vicinity.

Contact a U.S. Forest Service office for more detailed information on safety precautions.

Fees: Occupancy of Forest Service cabins is by permit only ($35 per night per party). Reservations may be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 1-877-444-6777 (518-885-3639 overseas) or via internet at www.recreation.gov. Maximum stay for this cabin is 7 consecutive nights.
