A 12 x 14-foot rustic cabin in the Resurrection Creek valley surrounded by spruce/birch forest with views of nearby mountains.

This cabin sleeps 6, and has a table, wood stove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, and outhouse.

Not included: running water, electricity, mattresses or bedding, cooking utensils, or cut firewood.

Reservations: Cabin reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 1-877-444-6777 (518-885-3639 overseas)  or visiting www.recreation.gov. Cabin reservations (check-in  & check out time) are from noon to noon.
Fees Per night prices range from $50-75 (2018 prices) depending on season. Cabin fees are based on non-peak/peak season/day. Seasons vary by cabin. A non-refundable service fee will be added to each reservation by Recreation.gov
Restrictions: Resurrection Pass Trail is closed to motorized vehicles from May 1- November 30 and will be closed to motorized vehicles during the 2010-11 winter season. Resurrection Pass Trail is closed to pack/saddle stock from April1- June 30.

Cabin is tucked away from trail on a scattered spruce forest. Subalpine vegetation type is a short hike uphill from the river bottom. Cabin elevation is 2,200 feet.

This cabin is in the Resurrection Pass/West Resurrection Pass and alternates between motorized and non-motoroized use annually, from December 1 through April 30, dependent on snow conditions. That is: one year, Resurrection and West Resurrection are motorized from December 1 through April 30; the following year, both units are non-motorized. The December 2008-April 2009 season is non-motorized.

East Creek Cabin is located on the Resurrection Pass Trail and is 14.5 miles from the north trailhead. The last mile of road is not plowed in winter. This cabin can be accessed by hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, skiing, or swnomobiling (during open seasons).

Safety Information

Winter travel is relatively safe, but trail is difficult to follow from East Creek to Resurrection Pass during/after heavy snowfall. Inclement weather may cause an unexpected extension of the trip. Bring extra supplies to last 2-5 days. Bringing a personal cooking stove is recommended. Bring initial supply of water. Remember to pack out your trash. You can contact a U.S. Forest Service office to receive more detailed information on safety precautions.
