Trout Lake Cabin

A large cabin with loft overlooking Trout Lake surrounded by spruce/birch forest and open brushy areas. Views of the lake and nearby mountains.

Winter is a great time to head to this cabin. Only seven miles down the trail, it provides the perfect day of exercise before relaxing in front of a warm woodstove.

This cabin sleeps 6, and has a table, woodstove, splitting maul, crosscut saw, outhouse, and rowboat with oars, for use in the non-frozen months..

Reservations: Cabin reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 1-877-444-6777 (518-885-3639 overseas)  or visiting www.recreation.gov. Cabin reservations (check-in  & check out time) are from noon to noon.
Fees: Per night prices range from $50-75 (2018 prices) depending on season. Cabin fees are based on non-peak/peak season/day. Seasons vary by cabin. A non-refundable service fee will be added to each reservation by Recreation.gov
Restrictions: Resurrection Pass Trail is closed to motorized vehicles from May 1- November 30 and will be closed to motorized vehicles during the 2010-11 winter season. Resurrection Pass Trail is closed to pack/saddle stock from April 1- June 30.

General Information

Directions:

Trout Lake Cabin is located on the Resurrection Pass Trail. 7.2 miles from the south trailhead turn onto 0.5 mile spur trail to cabin. It can be accessed by hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, skiing, floatplane, and snowmobile (during open seasons).

Lake and Pond Fishing

Fishing in Trout Lake for and rainbow trout and whitefish. Juneau Creek offers Dolly Varden, rainbow, and grayling. Review Alaska Department of Fish and Game hunting and fishing regulations.

Ice Fishing

Big Game Hunting

Wildlife includes moose, black and brown bears, and wolves. This area is prime moose habitat. Expect to see moose and evidence of periodic Forest Service habitat management programs using controlled burning. Hunting for these species in designated seasons. Review Alaska Department of Fish and Game hunting and fishing regulations.
