During the off-season there is no water, no trash service, and no fees. Please pack out all garbage. Outhouse/toilet facilities may be unavailable.
A small loop campground with 12 sites suitable for vehicle camping, small RV's and tents, located at MP 65.4 of the Seward Highway. $14/night

No reservations are taken for the Bertha Creek Campground. There is a user pay station at the entrance to the campground.

River and Stream Fishing
Bertha Creek, north of the campground, flows into Granite Creek, which is west of the campground. Licensed anglers may fish for all but King Salmon in these creeks, following Alaska Department of Fish & Game regulations.

Gold Panning
Bertha Creek, from its confluence with Granite Creek, upstream to where the powerline crosses the creek is a designated recreational gold pannning area. Granite Creek is closed to recreational mining because of its salmon spawning habitat.
Recreational gold panning on the Chugach consists of using hand tools, panning, sluicing and suction dredgingwith a 4" or smaller intake hose.
No hydralic mining or use of earth-moving equipment is allowed.
Work only in the active stream channel or unvegetated gravel bars. Do not dig in stream banks!

Granite Creek is a popular raft float trip, put in at Lyon Creek near MP 68 Seward Highway, take out at Bertha or Granite Creek Campgrounds, or at East Fork Sixmile Highway Bridge (MP 62 Seward Hwy). Expect sweepers and strainers in Granite Creek, Class 1-2 water.
Do not continue to float down Sixmile Creek unless you are a highly skilled river-runner! Sixmile Creek has numerous Class 4 and 5 rapids.
