Embudo TH, Embudo Trail 193 & Horse Bypass 193A

Embudo Trailhead accesses Embudo Trail 193, Embudo Horse Bypass Trail 193A and the Foothills Trail 365 in the Albuquerque Open Space.

Embudo Trail 193 is 3.2 miles long. It begins at Embudo Trailhead and ends at Three Gun Trail aka Tres Pistoles Trail 194.

The Embudo Bypass Trail 193A is 1.2 miles long and begins at the Open Space parking area, at the end of Indian School Road.  The parking area is operated and maintained by Albuquerque Open Space.

NOTE: Consider purchasing a detailed map at the Sandia Ranger District, Supervisor's Office or Regional Office. Locations of these office locations can be found in the "Passes" info below.

General Information


Access from Open Space trailhead. To get there from Tramway Blvd, go east on Indian School Road until it ends at a large parking area.

Horseback riders will want to bypass the beginning of the trail. Take the route on the ridge southeast of the dam to where it joins with the main trail.
