The California Wildland Firefighter picnic area and memorial wall pay tribute to firefighters who have died while fighting wildland fires in the state of California over the years. Picnic benches and tables are placed around the perimeter with native plants integrated into the memorial site. The serene, tree-filled location promotes the tranquility that inspires the memorial and its purpose. Presently the memorial consists of a circular area surrounding a red Maltese cross, with a stucco wall behind in a half circle. This memorial site is located along the California Wildland Firefighters Memorial Highway, which is the portion of State Route 74 between Lake Elsinore and San Juan Capistrano. To visit the site, take State Route 74 to the intersection of South Main Divide Road.
