| Information Center: | ORTEGA BRIDGE LANE REDUCTION Starting June 1, 2013 Construction has started on the new bridge overpass at Ortega Highway and Interstate 5. CALTRANS crews will reduce lanes on the Ortega Highway bridge over the I-5 freeway to two lanes in either direction in preparation for upcoming demolition activities on the south half of the bridge. This configuration will last for approximately one year as crews work to demolish and reconstruct the south half of the bridge. Lane closures are a necessary as part of this new bridge construction project, and the current lane closure will seriously impact the ability of recreational trailers and motor homes to make a left turn onto Ortega Highway after exiting the southbound I-5.
