Flambeau Motorized Trail

The Flambeau Motorized Trail System is a multi-use trail providing year-round riding activities on the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District in Price County. The system provides more than 70 miles of trails for OHVs, dirt bikes, horseback riders and mountain bikes.
The Flambeau Motorized Trail is open to ATVs and UTVs 65” or less from May 1 to March 14 each year and reopens in the winter for snowmobile use when conditions allow. Weather and trail conditions may cause closures during this time period in order to protect the resource and maintain the integrity of the trail.
The system offers riders of all skill levels a great place for outdoor recreation that is suitable for the whole family. It is highlighted by rolling terrain, tree-lined corridors, wooden bridges, and vistas overlooking bogs and lakes, all rich with natural beauty. Two rustic campgrounds are located near the trail, with Sailor Lake Campground offering ATV access directly from the campsite to the trail. Smith Rapids Campground is located a short hike from the trail, which features the Smith Rapids Covered Bridge. Constructed in 1991, the bridge is the only glue-laminated town lattice covered bridge in Wisconsin. The entire trail system essentially covers the length and width of the Park Falls unit of the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District.
Trail Length: more than 70 miles
What to expect: This trail system follows snowmobile trails. There are few opportunities for obtaining fuel and services on the trail system so be prepared with fuel and tools in the event that you run into trouble.
