If you are looking for a base camp to explore area trails or a destination campground with a family friendly atmosphere, try the Eastwood Campground on the Mondeaux Flowage northwest of Medford.

The Eastwood Campground is part of the Mondeaux Recreation Area on the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District. The site has 12 campsites equipped with a parking spur, campfire rings with grill, picnic table, vault toilets and drinking water. There are accessible vault toilet facilities and a fishing pier at nearby Lakeview Day Use Site.

Eastwood Campground is located 25 minutes north of Medford. The Eastwood Campground is pet friendly; See restrictions below for more information.

Current Conditions: Closed until further notice in alignment with current federal, state and local guidance for social distancing and to ensure health safety of its employees, visitors and volunteers.
Reservations: Some sites can be reserved at www.recreation.gov or by calling Recreation.gov at 1-877-444-6777 or TDD 1-877-833-6777. The campground will still have first come first served sites available for those who prefer a more spontaneous adventure.
Fees Individual campsite fee is $15, or $7.50 with the use of an Interagency pass (access or senior). The interagency pass applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fees or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party.
Restrictions: Campsite Capacity
  • Individual Campsites: 4 vehicles and up to 8 people (Vehicle limit includes combination of wheeled camping units and vehicles)
Pets and Animals
  • Pets must always be restrained or on a leash while in developed recreation areas.
  • Pets (except guide dogs) are not allowed in swimming areas.
Firewood Closure Order
  • Our firewood closure order prohibits the possession, storage, or transport of any firewood that originates from more than 25 miles from your campsite. Firewood certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Transportation and Consumer Protection can originate from more than 25 miles from National Forest destination.
  • Both certified firewood and Kiln-dried, untreated/unpainted/unstained/construction/dimensional lumber that is free of any metal or foreign substance is approved. Pallet boards are not approved.
Operation of all ATVs & UTVs are prohibited in campground. Restrictions for all National Forest System lands can be found by visiting Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations 261 by clicking here. General Information

Directions: Travel north from Medford on State Highway 13 for about 15 miles. Then turn left (west) on county trunk highway D for 6.5 miles, then turn left (south) on Forest Road 104 for 1.5 miles. Turn left (south) at Forest Road 104 and travel 0.5 miles to the campground entrance.

Campground Camping

The Eastwood Campground is located in a mature hardwood forest along the eastern shore of the Mondeaux Flowage which consist of 12 campsites, each site is equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. There is a concessionaire that sells firewood, ice and snacks at Mondeaux Dam Lodge. Trash collections is not provided within the campground, please pack out your own garbage. Dumpsters are provided by Mondeaux Dam Lodge.
