Twin Lakes Recreation Area

If you are looking for a campground to explore area trails or a destination campground with a family friendly atmosphere, try the Twin Lake Recreation Area 21 miles east of Park Falls.
The Twin Lake Recreation Area on the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District has 17 campsites equipped with a parking spur, campfire rings with grill, picnic table, vault toilets and drinking water. Two campsites have a hardened surface, accessible grills, and easy access to drinking water and vault toilets. There are accessible vault toilet facilities at the nearby interpretive trail at Round Lake Recreation Area. There is also an accessible fishing pier at nearby Newman Lake.
Day use facilities include a boat ramp with access to the 19-acre Twin Lake for year round fishing. Twin Lake has good trout and pan fishing and nearby hiking trails where you can hike, mountain bike and cross country ski in the winter.
So, if you like to hike, fish, swim, canoe, and picnic; then the Twin Lake Recreation Area is the place for you, conveniently located 20 minutes east of Park Falls. The Twin Lake Recreation Area is pet friendly; See restrictions below for more information.

General Information
Directions: Located about 21 miles from Park Falls, travel east on State Highway 182 to Forest Road 144. Turn right (south) and travel 5 miles to Forest Road 142. Turn left (east) for 2 miles to the campground entranceActivities
Mountain Biking

Campground Camping
The rustic Twin Lake Recreation Area is an undeveloped 16-acre Twin Lake facility. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring. Garbage and recycling dumpsters are available in the campground for campers only. Half the sites are on the water with a view of the lake. Most sites are spacious, and some are over 45' long.

Group Camping
Site 8 is a group site that allows up to 16 people and six vehicles.
Lake and Pond Fishing
Twin Lake has good fishing opportunities. A wind aerator and annual trout stocking keep the fishery strong. A boat landing is located in the campground. Some lakes have special fishing regulations. Be sure to check regulations for the area you are fishing.

Day Hiking

Boating - Motorized
While motors are allowed on Twin Lake, the lake is small, and the turnaround at the boat landing is very tight. The paved boat landing is located in the campground.
Boating - Non-Motorized
The undeveloped lake is small but good for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The paved boat landing is located in the campground.
