Turkey Springs Trail No. 217

Area Status: Open

This is a beautiful canyon walk with great rim views. A large balanced rock along trailside always gets attention. This trail connects with West Webber Trail (Tonto National Forest) for a loop hike.

Rating: Difficult

Length: 0.6 miles on the Coconino; 2 miles on the Tonto

Elevations: Beginning: 7,218 feet. Ending: 6,980 feet.

Note:

  • Forest Road 300 is usually closed each winter during heavy snow season.

Location: 85 miles Southeast of Flagstaff

Access: From Clint's Well go south on Hwy 87 for 9.5 miles to FR 300 (Rim Road) and turn left (east) and go one quarter of a mile to FR 218A. Turn right and go for 1.25 miles to FR 218 (the road to Milk Ranch Point) and turn right (south) and go for 2 miles to FR 9381F and turn left. The trailhead is behind a "Road Closed" Forest Service gate.
