Kendrick Cabin

Kendrick Cabin is a retired U. S. Forest Service Fire Guard Station built in the 1960's. While it was in service, firefighters lived here during the fire season.

This rustic three-bedroom masonry and wood cabin is located in the scenic Kendrick Park area. It has wonderful views of the San Francisco Peaks, Kendrick Mountain and the surrounding forest. It is located in an area that provides excellent hiking, mountain biking and scenic views.

The cabin is suitable for groups of up to 10 people. Larger group use of the cabin and grounds is possible with prior approval from the Forest Service. Dogs are allowed but must remain outside and leashed at all times. Please clean up after all animals. Off-road vehicle users, recognize your role in protecting the wildlands surrounding Kendrick Cabin. Please tread lightly and stay on designated roads complying with regulations applicable to your vehicle.

The cabin has running water in late May to early October, an outside bath house with flush toilet and shower (approximately all months except early October through April), propane lights, a propane stove top and a small refrigerator. There is a dining area with a living room combination of two queen size futons and wood stove. It is furnished with one double bed downstairs and two twin beds in each of the two bedrooms upstairs. Kitchen supplies include pots, pans, utensils, dishes, coffee pot and can opener. On the grounds is an outdoor barbeque grill, a fire ring and a picnic table. The cabin has an accessible ramp to the front porch with access to the main floor of the house and one bedroom. The bath house is accessible, however, the path from the house to the bathhouse is not.

Photos of the cabin are available "Photos & Multimedia".
