Priest Draw Trail and Bouldering Area

Priest Draw is a picturesque canyon with low limestone walls and cliffs topped with ponderosa pine forest. The flat, easy trail travels along one side of the broad, sunny meadows along the canyon floor for approximately 1.5 mile to a second trailhead off FR 235 at the western end of Priest Draw. The gentle trail and easy access to explore the rock formations makes this an excellent hike or bike ride for the entire family.

The area is a popular bouldering destination, offering several areas of walls and overhangs to challenge climbers. Keep pets, children, and yourself a safe distance from climbers.

Do not deface the rock or chip out holds (that's cheating).
Do not chop trees or vegetation.

The Coconino National Forest does not provide climbing information for Priest Draw. There are several online resources for information about the different bouldering areas and problems, such as the Mountain Project: Priest Draw, or visit one of the local climbing businesses.

Directions:

Location: 12 miles south of Flagstaff, Arizona

Access: Drive southeast out of Flagstaff 6.1 miles on Lake Mary Rd. (FH 3). After the second cattle guard, turn right on Crimson Rd. (FR 132). Drive 3 miles and turn right on FR 235 (at Howard Draw), Drive approximately 0.2 miles to the trailhead parking at the end of the road.
