Hoodoo Canyon Trail #17

This 5 mile round trip trail crosses the south fork of Deadman Creek then climbs the ridge above. Views of the Kettle Range and the spectacular Hoodoo Canyon greet hikers. The trail then decends from the canyon ledge to Emerald Lake. This section is steep and recommended for experienced hikers.

Please do no proceed past the Emerald Lake Junction as the Trout Lake Trail is currently closed for reconstruction.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: Please be aware that Emerald Lake can only be accessed from Hoodoo Canyon Trail #17 and cannot be accessed from the Trout lake Trailhead due to a hazardous washout that has closed the trail 1.5 miles from the start of the trailhead.

Directions:

From Kettle Falls follow U.S. Highway 395 north for 10 miles to Deadman Creek Raod 9565. Travel west on road 9565 for 10 miles to the meadow.
