Kettle Crest South National Recreation #13

Area Status: Open

The trail climbs from Sherman Pass (5,575 feet) to Sherman Peak (6,500 feet) then follows the mountain side and gradually descends to 6,000 feet. The trail continues to the junction of Bald Mountain and Edds Mountain Trail #3. The trail travels through the site of the White Mountain Complex, the August 1988 wildland fire ignited by lighting strikes.

Directions:

From Kettle Falls, WA:  Head west on US-395 N/WA-20 W/E 3rd Ave toward Meyers St Continue to follow US-395 N/WA-20 W for 3.7 miles.  Turn left onto WA-20 W for 10.4 miles.  Turn left onto S Fork Sherman Creek Rd for 6.5 miles.  Slight left onto Barnaby Creek Rd/NF-2014 for  0.5 miles. Slight right to stay on Barnaby Creek Rd/NF-2014 for 3.6 miles.  Slight right onto White Mountain Rd for 4.3 miles.  Destination will be on the right.
