Toccoa River Sandy Bottoms Recreation Area

This small campground is located along the banks of the Toccoa River just south of Blue Ridge, GA. This recreation area is the take-out for the 13.8 mile Toccoa River Canoe Trail. The recreation area offers camping, fishing and a canoe take-out.

Reservations: Reservations are not accepted. Occupancy of sites are on a first come, first serve basis.

Closest Towns: The nearest town is approximtely 11 miles north, or 20 minutes, in Blue Ridge, GA. Here campers will fnd restaurants, grocery stores, etc.
Water: No drinking water
Restroom: 1 Vault facility
Passes: The Chattahoochee-Oconee Forest Annual Pass for $25 is available at Forest Service offices in Gainesville, Blairsville, Chatsworth, Lakemont, and Eatonton, Georgia. This pass will allow you to enjoy selected recreation opportunities on the Chattahoochee and the Oconee NF, without having to pay daily fees at each site. The Forest Annual Pass will be good for one year from the month of purchase. Those who have a Golden Age, Golden Access, Interagency Senior or Interagency Access Pass will receive a 50% discount off of the Forest Annual Pass. The Forest Annual Pass is not valid at concession sites.

From Blue Ridge, GA go south on Aska Road 8.5 miles. Turn left, go across Shallowford Bridge and turn right on Shallowford Bridge Road. Go 1.3 miles to Old Dial Road. Turn right on Old Dial Road, go 0.6 miles to recreation area.
