Cradled in the hills of the North Georgia Mountains overlooking beautiful Lake Rabun, this developed recreation area offers camping, hiking, all sorts of water activities like swimming, boating and fishing, and an opportunity to absorb the peaceful lake scenery. There are 80 tent and trailer campsites in this family-oriented setting that will easily transform whatever gear you have into an outdoor home away from home.

At a Glance

Current Conditions: Campground is closed for the season. Day Use Ramp, Fishing Pier, and Beach area open year-round with normal fees
Operational Hours: Lake Rabun Beach Campground is open seasonally 24 hours a day. Quite hours after 10pm.
Reservations: Reservations are accepted and encouraged, especially on holidays and weekends.  There are a few sites available on a first come, first serve basis.  To ensure your campsite, visit or call 1-877-444-6777 for reservations. 
Rentals & Guides:  14 day max stay
Fees Camping: Loop1 Sites 1 - 53; Water & Non-electric $18/site/night. Loop 2 Sites 54-85; Water & Electric $29/site/night, Swim Site : $5/non-commercial vehicle/day, Over 6 people, $1 each additional person Boat Launch: $5/vehicle/day.  See for reservation information.  Additional fees may apply.
Permit Info: Georgia fishing license, valid boating registration.

Closest Towns: Clayton is approximately 15 miles, or 25 minutes, where you can find a full range of services and supplies.
Water: Drinking water is provided by faucets at most sites.
Restroom: 2 Flush facilities
Passes: The Interagency Senior and Access Passes and the Golden Age and Access Passports are accepted.  These passes entitle the pass holder to a 50% discount on camping fees. The water & electric sites discounted fee is $20.00. Annual Day Use Passes are available mid-April through October - Contact 706-782-6798.

Physical Address: 5315 Lake Rabun Rd, Lakemont, GA

Take U.S. 441/23 south from Clayton for 5.4 miles; turn right on Wiley Connector for 0.1 mile; turn left (south) on Georgia 15(Historic 441) for 1.4 miles; turn right on Lake Rabun Road (County Road 10) for 5 miles. If pulling a trailer, the best route is to go west on Hwy 76 for 7 miles; turn left on Charlie Mtn. Road for 3.5 miles; turn right on Bridge Creek Road for 2 miles; turn left on Burton Dam Road for 5.4 miles. The campground will be on your left. View a map.
