Lake Conasauga Overflow Campground
This 6 site camping area is in a different part of the recreation area. Each campsite is equipped with tent pad and picnic table. Vault toilet available; no water. Campers may drive to the boat ramp to access the lake.

Current Conditions: | This is not the main camping loop. There are only 6 campsites in the Overflow, no water and only a vault toilet. The main camping loop does not open until mid-April. Hikers may park here to hike the trails associated with Lake Conasauga. |

Restrictions: | Dogs must be leashed in campground. Alcohol is prohibited in the entire Lake Conasauga Recreation Area. |
Closest Towns: | The closest towns are Chatsworth, about 20 miles southwest, and Ellijay, about 15 miles southeast of the campground. In these towns, campers will find a variety of grocery stores, restaurants, laundry mats and gas stations. |

General Information
Directions:From Chatsworth, GA: take U.S. Highway 411 north to Eton, GA and turn right onto Old CCC Camp Road. After about 5 miles the pavement ends and becomes dirt and gravel (Forest Service Road 18). Continue for about 4 miles to a fork in the road; take the left fork, FSR 68. Continue on FSR 68 for about 6 miles to T-intersection at Potato Patch Mountain. Turn left to remain on FSR 68 and follow for 4-5 miles to the entrance of the Lake Conasauga Recreation Area.
From Ellijay, GA: from the town circle, travel on GA Highway 52 west for 5 miles to Gates Chapel Road. Turn right and travel about 9 miles (becomes dirt and gravel after 7 miles). Turn right onto Forest Service Road 68 and continue for about 4 miles to a T-intersection at Potato Patch Mountain. Turn left to remain on FSR 68 for about 5 miles to the entrance of the Lake Conasauga Recreation Area.
