The trail begins at Dog Mountain Trail #147 in the meadow and ends at Augspurger Trail #4407 at mile 2.8.

Current Conditions: Permits required weekends 4/20/2019 - 6/16/2019. Reserve in advance at Recreation.gov or receive one same-day by taking the $2 roundtrip shuttle from Stevenson, Washington.
Permit Info: Permits are required Saturdays & Sundays from March 31 to July 1 for each individual using the Dog Mountain Trail System. The system includes Dog Mountain Trail (#147 and #147C), Dog Augspurger Tie Trail #147A, and the lower portion of Augspurger Trail #4407. Hikers on the system will be required to carry a hard copy permit or electronic proof of purchase.  Permits: More information

Usage: Medium
Restrictions: Motor vehicles and bikes are prohibited. Fires not allowed within 200 feet of trail.
Closest Towns: White Salmon, Wa; Carson, WA; Home Valley, WA
Passes: A valid Recreation Pass is required at Dog Mountain Trailhead.

General Information

Directions:

From Portland, OR: Travel east on Interstate 84 to Cascade Locks exit #44.  Cross the Columbia River on the Bridge of the Gods and turn right on Washington State Highway 14.  Travel approximately 12 miles to the sign for the Dog Mountain Trailhead and pullout on the left (north) between milepost 53 and 54.

From Bingen, WA: Travel west on Washington State Highway 14 approximately 13 miles to the sign for the Dog Mountain Trailhead.
