Wahkeena creek and waterfall.

This fall along Wahkeena Creek can be seen from the Wahkeena picnic area across the Historic Highway. There are parking spaces at the picnic area. The Yakama Tribe word "wahkeena" means "most beautiful". Waterfall can be accessed by car or hiking. Height: 242 feet. Type: Tiered.

Wahkeena Falls Day Use/Picnic Area/Trailhead

From Portland, OR: Travel east on Interstate 84 for approximately 30 miles, then take exit #28, Bridal Veil. Turn left from the off ramp onto the Historic Columbia River Highway. Travel 2 1/2 miles east to the site's parking area along the north side of the Highway.  The trail starts on the Highway's south side.

From Cascade Locks, OR: Travel west on Interstate 84 to exit #35, Ainsworth State Park.  Follow the Historic Highway west 4.5 miles to the site's parking area.

This waterfall can be accessed via hiking trails, or if driving to the area trailheads are present at the site.
